During an earnings call this week with Take 2 Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnik, Zelnik shed a little light on Red Dead Redemption 2.

First and foremost Take 2 (parent company of Rockstar) plans on significant marketing for the game so as fall approaches look for plenty of trailers and commercials for the game.

When asked whether he thought that Red Dead Online would steal players away from GTA Online, but Zelnik doesn’t feel that it will.  He feels the players who play both will go back and forth between the two and frankly I agree.

He was also asked whether or not that RDR2 Online would Kill GTA Online eventually, he didn’t really answer the question, basically saying he didn’t think so, but rumors have persisted that it would. According to rumors leading up to Red Dead’s release content will slow in GTA Online and eventually will stop.  However, in my opinion if there are still plenty of players on GTA Online I don’t think Rockstar will quit supporting it until GTA 6 comes out.

Also, on a side note, GTA 5 has shipped over 75 million copies, with that many people owning the game I doubt support will stop for it anytime soon.
