With today’s new Xbox One Update we will finally have backwards compatibility (cue dance hall horn)! Now this is a brave new world with a new dashboard and with anything new comes fear, but also comes hope.
This hope being backwards compatibility, and one of the biggest and coolest backwards compatibility will be the entire Gears of War collection to your Xbox One for FREE! (Cue more dance hall horn)
How do you get these games for free? Well do you have a copy of Gears of War Ultimate Edition? Yes, well then play an online match before December 31. Don’t have a copy? Well get one on Black Friday for $19.99 from Best Buy and play an online match before December 31.
Anyways, here’s all the details from Gearsofwar.com.
The New Xbox One Experience launches November 12 and with it comes Backwards Compatibility for the complete collection of Gears of War games for Xbox 360. We will begin fulfilling these tokens starting December 1 through Xbox Live in-dash message system so be sure to check your inbox. Tokens will be sent out in waves and we will not get everyone in the first wave – we appreciate your patience as we roll this program out!
