A quick note about this post, I don’t have any figures to give you, this is simply my own eye test at my local Best Buy.
Yesterday I went to Best Buy to pick up my preorder copy of WWE 2K16 for the Xbox 360 which will be a Christmas gift for my son (keep an eye on the site, Nelson will have a review of the Xbox One version soon) and when I went up to the customer service desk to pick up my copy I was shocked to see two large crates on the floor. In one crate a ton of copies of Halo 5 (no surprise there) and in the second case I expect it to be more Halo 5 but no, after I told the nice young lady at the counter what I was there to pick up she went to that second crate and produced my copy of WWE 2K.
Granted, the WWE 2K games have always sold well but I kind of had to take a second look at it when 2K Games decided to release it on the same day as Halo 5 (arguable the most anticipated game of the year, that or Fallout 4). So to see nearly the same amount of WWE games up there for preorder as I did for Halo I was quite shocked.
So Kudos to you WWE, at least in Stafford, Virginia you’re going toe to toe with Halo 5.
