Sigh. First I’d like to say that I was a big fan of Heroes when it first came out. It’s a shame that the middle seasons weren’t too great. Heroes Reborn is interesting. As I Said last week, it’s weird with so many characters that gave the show its charm being gone, but the storylines are interesting. Unfortunately episode two was a little annoying. I absolutely hate the wife of Zach Levi’s character. She’s a friggin sociopath. And honestly the direction is still very “X-Men”. Heroes does something very annoying that I don’t think they used to do. They give you just enough to keep you invested for one more episode. I think the most annoying part is the fact that Heroes Reborn’s direction is also very similar to what Agents of SHIELD is doing.
Speaking of SHIELD, this week’s episode was a little boring. Continuing the themes from last week, we see the return of Blair Underwood’s character to assess Joe’s viability for the “Secret Warriors” team that Daisy has been recruiting for. We also see what May has been up to. She has been looking after her father (played by James Hong, AKA David Lo Pan). The Majority of the episode revolved around two things, May and whether or not she was going to help hunter track down and kill Ward (whom is rebuilding Hydra) and getting Simmons back. I will say the end of the episode did tug on the heartstrings a bit. All in all the episode was OK. I wish SHIELD could get away from Ward. I know most shows need a main villain of sorts but depending on Ward to be that Lynch pin is getting tiresome.
