Rumor has it that Star Wars: Rogue One is expected to have four weeks of expensive reshoots and that Disney Execs are worried about the film and the movie isn’t currently testing well.
Before you get into a panic let me put your mind at ease that reshoots are a thing that happens all of the time in Hollywood, heck Episode VII had reshoots as well (not to mention Jaws, ET, Rocky, just to name a few) and that worked out for everyone.
The only thing that worries me is the film not testing well and that’s not because I think it might be a bad movie, it’s that this movie obviously has a darker tone than Episode VII and as many of us believe most if not all of the crew in this movie will meet their end in trying to steal these plans. My fear is the ending is not testing well because it’s not a happy ending (though in fairness it’s not a true ending since it’s part of a lager story) and that Disney may change the ending to appease these people that want everyone to live.
Whether or not this movie is good or bad remains to be seen, but whenever reshoots are announced people tend to panic and most of the time it isn’t warranted.
