Over the last couple of weeks we’ve reported on the The HTC Valve and the Oculus Rift release dates, pre-orders, and prices, one company though, knee deep in the VR world has been absent, and that’s Sony.
However, Sony has sent out a special invite to a press release on March 15 in San Francisco recently (I’m sure ours got lost in the mail, right Sony?) and this event will deal solely with the PlayStation VR headset. Hopefully this means Sony will officially release the price and release dates for the VR headset. Just a side note, Sony, I’ve got a PS4 but not a $1500 plus PC gaming machine, you’re my only hope for VR, stop jerking me around, well there might be Apple as well but I trust you more Sony.
The original launch window for the PS VR is supposed to be the first half of this year, but Gamestop C.E.O. might have let it slip that the set wouldn’t be released until the fall, but Sony has denied that rumor. We’ll have to wait just over two weeks to know for sure because I doubt Sony would hold an event for their VR without, you know, telling us when and how much it will be.
One last note on that, in Japan (sorry Western dogs) you will be able to pay for you PS VR set with bitcoins, so yay for virtual money.
Anyways, stay tuned to this site for all your VR news and the coming of the Lawnmower man.
