Recently Hideo Kojima spoke with Japanese website Famitsu and translated by Siliconera.com, Kojima let loose some details surrounding his next game that will be coming to the PlayStation 4.
First up, it’s a third person action game (surprise surprise) that won’t quite be the open world we got with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but Kojima said that fans of games like Uncharted and the Division will enjoy it. Kojima also hinted at new and experimental things for this game, which is something we expect from Kojima. It seems every game he makes has something new and weird to it, like switching controller ports to beat a boss, or taking your Gameboy Advance outside to charge a sun gun (Kojima is a weird creative guy).
Kojima also explained that he chose Sony because they basically just trusted his track record and he didn’t have to produce what he called a “Hollywood Method” in presenting something. His Metal Gear games (though being on other consoles as well) have kind of been known as PlayStation games since his breakout hit Metal Gear Solid was a PS One exclusive.
Also Kojima said that the secret to his game can be found in the Kojima Productions logo, so you photo analysts have fun trying to figure that shit out.
However, there is no release date set for the game, but given that he hasn’t begun making it yet it probably won’t be released for at least two to three years at the earliest.
So what do you think about these sprinkles of information that Kojima gave us about the game? Are you excited for it like we are? Let us know in the comments below.
