Goodbye X-Box 360

Microsoft announced yesterday that they will cease production on the X-Box 360 console which really shouldn’t come as a surprise as we’re 2 plus years into the new console generation.  No word on games for the 360, though I can’t recall any 1st party games coming out for the 360 in the last year, everything released for that as well as the PlayStation 3 have been ports of 3rd party Next Gen games.

The 360 leaves a legacy of fantastic new 1st party IPs such as Gears of War, along with the ability to party chat, as well as the best console online experience to date (still better than the X-Box One), and the X-Box Live Arcade with some really awesome Indie games.  However, it did have it’s downsides as well, like a shortage at launch, and the Red Ring of Death (my console was replaced numerous times).

X-Box 360 we salute you the only way we know how, a Viking Funeral, thank you for all the fish.

Where are my manners, allow myself to introduce... ah... myself. I'm Josh, I'm a proud dad and I will probably write the majority of the content you see on this site (and editing 100% of it) because that's my background, writing. I'm an author of two books (Ripper, and Suburban Sky: American Tales) with books three and four on the way... eventually. I also have experience writing for various sites, including Bleacher Report, Redskins101, and more currently you can find me at where I write a weekly-ish satirical column. Here are the links to my books if you wish to check them out. Click here for Ripper: Click here for Suburban Skies: So that's me in a nutshell. I hope you enjoy the site.

  1. This I am pretty glad for.
It is time to focus on the latest Gen.
Destiny for instance was impacted because they had to make a 360 and ps3 version and the One/PS4 version was impacted as far as content (smaller vault space, etc).

It was a fantastic system though.
I will probably pick one up in the next year or so.

    • Agreed, time to fully focus on the now and not the past. I do hope they work on Xbox Live a little more, the 360 XBL is a better experience than the One, but the One is still way better than the PSN when it comes to online.
