Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney is not a huge fan of Microsoft’s new Window’s UWP.  In an article posted to the Guardian, Sweeney takes umbrage with Microsoft’s efforts to create a universal platform where you can create apps that work across all of Microsoft’s platforms like Windows 10, Xbox One, tablets, and the new Hololens.

Sweeney, who said Microsoft was trying to monopolized all of PC gaming since you can only buy these apps through the Microsoft store (kind of like every other proprietor of major gaming platforms).  He wants his fellow developers to boycott it.

Me personally I’m waiting to see how this all plays out.  I like the idea of cross platforming on Windows and Xbox and being able to switch between the apps and not losing any progress.  So we’ll have to see what happens when UWP is up and running later this year.
