You can’t see me right now dear reader but I’m face palming right now. In the latest issue of Captain America it has been revealed that Captain America has always been a secret agent of Hydra. Marvel has responded to the outrage by saying this is the real Steve and it’s really happening, and that if you read between the lines than you’ll see the evidence has been there since the beginning. Yep, I’m pretty sure that’s what Jack Kirby had in mind the whole time, especially since Hydra wasn’t created by Marvel until the 60’s. Also an easy bluff to make since no one is going to go back and read all 75 years of Captain America comics.
Granted I know this is a publicity stunt (which is the only things comics do anymore) and will be ret-conned like Peter Parker being a clone, Aunt May’s death, and a 1000 other things (because comics) and eventually it will be reveled that Steve was cloned, possessed or some other dip shit thing. It’s dumb and it gets them in the headlines because god forbid we try that with a good story line.
So what do you think dear reader? I think it’s a pile of shit, but anyways, let us know in the comments below.
Uhh
This is lame
They need to retcon this quickly or end it soon
Cap is one of my all time favorites and for him to be hydra is dumb
Why would he go through everything he has been through and him end up being a double agent?
What is the long con on this one?
Also wouldn’t have this been found out in the original sin arc?
I couldn’t agree more, this might be the dumbest thing Marvel has done since either the clone wars or selling off all their top properties to other movie studios.
