Good Morning kids, it’s Friday. and you know what that means, time for another anime review. Just an FYI, I still haven’t caught up on Gate yet, and unfortunately I was not able to watch God Eater this week either. Sometimes there’s just not enough hours in the day, I do apologize and hopefully I’ll be able to catch up soon. In the meantime I was able to squeeze in DBS and Naruto so let’s get this party started.
Dragon Ball Super Episode 11
We all know that the series up until this point has pretty much been deleted/extended scenes of the DBZ movie “Battle of the Gods”. To me, Episode 11 is the “divergent point” between the show and said movie into two parallel storylines (think Robotech Shadow Chronicles vs Macross Frontier). Now the episode is still Goku Vs Beerus, but the tone of the episode shifts away from what the movie had established and is building up to something I think will be great. At this point in the Battle of the Gods OVA, Goku had lost his Super Saiyan God Transformation and was pretty much shunning it but still keeping pace with Beerus. That’s not the case here. Goku is still discovering the depths of his new power, bit by bit upping the ante so to speak. There are some surprises in the episode, but overall it’s an episode that’s all set up.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 431
OMG! this filler is unbearable. this week’s episode serves no other purpose other than to kill time. it doesn’t add anything to the narrative, it’s pretty boring, and it’s very depressing. I’m not sure if it was supposed to be Karin’s backstory but let’s face it, no one cares. the biggest problem with trying to give this character a backstory now is the fact that all the characters except the reanimated Hokage, Team 7, and Madara are caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi, so I have no idea if what we saw was supposed to be her backstory or the “perfect dream world scenario” that EVERY OTHER CHARACTER HAS EXPERIENCED SO FAR! So unless you really wanted a Karin centric episode, SKIP!!!!!
